JTF wins Grand Prize at 2012 Walk of Charities |
|
No holiday window display is complete without a touch of "bluapple" magic! Earlier this month, the Jason Taylor Foundation accepted an invitation to join the 2012 Walk of Charities Event at The Harbor Shops in Fort Lauderdale on December 6th.
Voted the best display for this year's contest, the JTF received the Grand Prize of $5,000, to further help in building a better future for South Florida's children in need. The JTF teamed up with Susie Parker and Massage Envy Fort Lauderdale to create a window display at their location, featuring a Winter Wonderland scene and mannequins who came to life as the JTF's very own, bluapple poets!
The Wordz Ablaze Poetry Crew, led by Darius Daughtry, from Northeast High School, who are also avid participants in the Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network, created a holiday themed spoken word poetry piece for spectators to enjoy. "JT" Claus even made a special appearance at the event.
Upon the announcement of the Grand Prize window display, Jason made the night truly special by joining in the spirit of giving. Just minutes after hearing the great news, Taylor authorized that $2,000 of the Grand Prize winnings would support the Wordz Ablaze Poetry Crew at Northeast High School and their efforts to grow within the Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network and beyond!
